Actually, it is not necessarily no more Instant Messaging, but it more of a “less IM”. I do not really talk that much on Yahoo Messenger, but I use it as a reason for procrastinating all the time (when I get bored, I browse my list and I am sure to find someone that needs to kill some time). This really gets my productivity down to a very low point.

So, starting from today, only 1 hour of IM/day (just to keep in touch with what happens).

Everybody that needs to contact me may do that by phone or by email (if not, then it is not that important in the first place ).

Actually, I will try this for a week. If I can increase my productivity, than I will try it for one more week… and so on and so forth.

Oh, by the way, if you are addicted to IM chat and you are using Yahoo Messenger, good news: you can now chat with your friends by SMS. Or other way to put it: you can now use Yahoo Mail to send SMS messages to your friends.

As you already know, I use Pidgin with Yahoo/MSN smileys with for my IM needs. Peter, from TurbulentSky, found out it’s possible for all of us to create your own Pidgin smiley themes and here is where you can find out how.

Basically, you should write a theme file that tells Pidgin which images to use for what combinations.
