Bobby Voicu

Romanian blogger and online entrepreneur. Ex-Yahoo! community manager for Romania (the only ever employee in Romania). Right now, my main project is a browser-based text game called RevvNation.

I am interested in using social media for small business, self employed and, more than anything, I am interested in passive income.

I have been able to earn a living online since 2005, but I have never felt like it was truly passive. Especially the last 2 years, when I was working 12-14 hours/day sometimes.

I earned money both from the English market and Romanian market. I have some English projects (rpmgo and revvnation being one of them), along with some Romanian projects (I sold one blog with EUR40000 in 2008, biggest blog sale in Romania). I also started the Romanian bloggers community in 2006 – the domain name was initially different.

In Romania, I was able to earn quite a living using my own Romanian blog, where I had as partners and sponsors big names in the market (see a complete list here).

Why this interest in the English speaking market? The Romanian market is a small one and doesn;t really let you create passive income. So I am starting almost from scrap (I have some knowledge, obviously) and trying to create some passive income in this new market. This blog is a test, I can only give it one hour a day, max.

Earlier version of this page:

My name is Bogdan (Bobby) Voicu, I live in Romania. I do stuff on the internet hoping to earn enough money so that I can travel for the next two years of my life. Well, at least this is what I wanted 3 years ago, when I started reading about people making money over the internet.

Three years later: it is a lot harder than they actually say, I still haven’t made the trip, but there is a chance I will :)

Two more years later: I visited 10 countries in the last years, but still in Romania, not yet around the world :)

Right now, among other things, I do online communication consulting and blogging consulting for business and corporate blogs and for personal branding blogs, as well, I have a radio show about internet (in Romanian, except this 2 hours show when I interviewed Jeremy Wright ), I started the Romanian Bloggers’ Community and usually I have a lot of fun doing fun stuff on the Internet.

I also play poker from time to time. I enjoy the game, I don’t have the time to truly play it.

Best things that happened to me in all my internet years? I met a lot of people, I made a lot of friends and I learned that as long as you would do the work that you do even if you weren’t paid for it, then you just found your perfect job.

Moreover, I am a JCI Romania member since 2007. I have participated in the 2007 JCI World Congress in Antalya. Unfortunately, I haven’t been that active in the past years.

I am passionate about cars, I test lots of them, as you can see in my pics.

Now, go back to your jobs and stop peeping into my life :D

Below there are recordings from shows I’ve been invited to to talk about blogging, on different TV stations and online sites (all in Romanian, unfortunately):
